What are STEAM Workshops?

The Georgia Tech CEISMC STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Workshops are workshops for students in 6th through 12th grade. STEAM Workshops encourage students to study and pursue a career in the STEAM fields by exposing them too many different topics of science and engineering along with technology. During each session, students participate in a variety of hands-on activities that promote creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

CEISMC Student Programs is excited to bring back in-person programming. This fall, we have some very exciting new workshop options for you to choose from.

Our STEAM Workshops weekends for grades 6th-12th will be Saturday  December 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. here on the Atlanta campus of Georgia Tech in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons Building (unless otherwise posted in parent packets).

Workshop #1: Robotics Challenge in partnership with Georgia Tech HIVE Makerspace

Working with Georgia Techs the HIVE Makerspace, participants will design a robotics challenge course. Participants will work in small groups to program a robot car to navigate through a physical obstacle course using various sensors. They will learn the basics of microcontrollers, sensors (distance and line following), and programming.

Workshop #2: Hour of Code

Join us as we explore computer science through an Hour of Code. This workshop shows that anybody can learn the basics and beyond from Java to Python, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.

“Your Voice is Power” Coding Workshop

Your Voice is Power from Amazon, Georgia Tech, and Pharrell Williams' philanthropic organization Yellow is a learning experience and coding competition. Come to the Your Voice is Power workshop to learn how to code using EarSketch and remix songs from top recording artist’s

Think Like an Engineer Series: Stem Cell Images in EEVEE for Blender

Grade: 9th-12th Grade
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm *Three Hour Session
